Vocational Training for Out-of-School Youths

JHO’s Vocational Training program involves provision of theory and practical vocational training in painting, forge-welding, bakery, tiling and plumbing etc to out-of-school and vulnerable youths. It is also involve catch-up and refresher basic education in English and siSwati. Finally, it is involve work readiness training, internship placement, and skilled-youth cooperative creation. By the completion of the program, youths should be equipped with the skills and knowledge of their vocations, as well as cooperative management to improve their individual economic situations.

JHO specific aims are:

Joyful Hearts is involved in the Accelerated Learning Program in partnership with other stakeholders in order to provide OVC youths with catch-up education, work readiness and vocational skills training.

The partnership starts by reaching OVCs and youths at existing centres in the country. Eventually, JHO is planning to create its own vocational training centre in the future.
